Eastatoe Falls
with Colleen Miniuk
We are thrilled to offer this unique opportunity to photograph one of North Carolina’s most stunning waterfalls—one of the two that Kevin considers the best in the state for photography. The legendary Eastatoe Falls is closed to the public, but Photo Fest has been granted special permission to visit. Colleen Miniuk will be with you during the entire session, helping you make the best photos possible of this striking waterfall. To make it even more rewarding, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Waterfall Keepers of North Carolina, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the waterfalls of the state.

Birds of Prey
with Interpretive Naturalist Carlton Burke
We bring the wildlife to you! Possible species available include owls, hawks, vultures and falcons. The birds will be out in the open, with all photo opportunities having natural backgrounds. In addition to striking portraits, you may be able to create images of the birds eating mice and trout. Because the animals will be very close, you do not need a long telephoto lens—anything in the 70mm to 300mm range will be fine (although you can certainly use longer lenses if you wish). This is a great opportunity for not only creating some terrific images, but also for learning about photographing raptors from a knowledgeable naturalist.
